Entryway storage – An entryway is the area of the home that collect shoes, coats, hats, gloves, backpacks, purses and umbrellas when the family comes home or friends arrive. Whether you have a grand foyer or a small portion of a front room dedicated for this purpose, you can keep it organized by hooks, furniture, baskets or shelves.
Create or Built-Ins. One way to add entryway storage and hide clutter in a hall is to build a simple closet in one part of the room. If you do not have any kind of foyer, but instead into the home directly through the kitchen or living room, you may be able to build a shallow closet for storage on each side of the front door. You can also create a cabinet at an angle in one corner of the room. Another possibility is to add the 3-or 4-meter-high device with hooks and shelves between the hall and the living area. This will not only create the storage for coats and shoes, but can also help to define the two compartments.
Add entryway storage to a small room to build or buy shelves deep enough to hold a pair of baskets for coats and baseball caps. Some racks are made with built-in hooks for hanging coats or backpacks. If you are building shelves, so you can buy cheap brackets and 1 x 12-inch planks. Add hooks directly under the coats and scarves, and a few more hooks slightly lower down to backpacks or bags. Attach small shelves a few inches above the floor to stow shoes.
